Description
The newest entry in Mary Anna Evans's thrilling Faye Longchamp series finds Faye in the middle of a terrifying bombing in Oklahoma City. Faye survives a bombing in the company of a movie star, Burt Mantooth, who is in Oklahoma City as part of a conference celebrating native arts. No one was killed but the unidentified person setting the bomb. When nobody comes forward to claim responsibility, it seems that the bomber was working alone, but what was his motive? White supremacist tracts targeting the native arts conference suggest that they might be involved, but Burt isn't very popular in his home state, so he might have been the sole target. The bomb opened up a crevasse in the old hotel's floor, revealing a subterranean network of chambers used by Chinese residents in the early twentieth century. Working with the police, Faye and Burt get access to the warren of tunnels. That's where they find connections between the tunnels and the storm sewers that extend beneath the whole city...and discover the body of a child.
