Description
A love greater than war. A beautiful woman lost. A mystery unsolved ... until now. The epic new saga from one of Australia's best loved storytellers. Lily has moved from Australia to Moscow to escape from tragedy and the memories that haunt her. As she slowly begins to rebuild her life, she becomes fascinated by the story of WWII ace fighter pilot Natalya Azarova, who went missing during a battle. Her plane was never found. Was she shot down or was she a German spy who faked her death, as the Kremlin claims? When Lily meets an elderly woman who claims to know the truth, she is drawn ever deeper into the mystery. Set amid the turbulent rebirth of Moscow in 2000 and the pomp and purges of Stalin's Russia, this sweeping saga is a story of secrets and lies, enduring love and terrible betrayal, sacrifice and redemption.
