Author Biography

Laurel Snyder is the Theodor Seuss Geisel Medal-winning author of the Charlie & Mouse beginning reader series: Charlie & Mouse, Charlie & Mouse & Grumpy, Charlie & Mouse: Even Better, and Charlie & Mouse: The Great Outdoors. She is also the author of the Junior Library Guild selection and ALA Notable Children's Book Swan: The Life and Dance of Anna Pavlova (with Chronicle) and the middle-grade National Book Award contender Orphan Island. She lives and writes in a small yellow house in Atlanta, Georgia, which she shares with her husband and two sons. Emily Hughes is an illustrator (and sometimes writer) who lives in windy Brighton, England, while thinking fondly of her hometown in Hilo, Hawaii. Emily's other fabulous books include Everything You Need for a Treehouse, Wild, A Brave Bear, and The Little Gardener.
