Reviews"... this contains profiles of 75 canonical female characters, fully illustrated in a striking array of styles (a postcard set's also available). The text deftly weaves in-universe and out; obscure pastel droid R2-KT will remain in your memory banks much longer after reading her heart-rending off-screen backstory." -- Total Film "Carrie Fisher liked to joke that Princess Leia was the only woman in the galaxy - but that's no longer true. From the heroines of 'The Force Awakens' and 'Rogue One' to characters from TV, comics and novels, this lovingly illustrated book explores the feminine (and, increasingly, feminist) side of the 'Star Wars' universe." -- Time Out "Amy Ratcliffe is writing Women of the Galaxy, a guidebook featuring about 75 women from the Star Wars universe with over a hundred illustrations and a foreword from Kathleen Kennedy herself." -- Gizmodo "The galaxy of Star Wars is an expansive and brilliant one, but so often the stories have been focused on the men who inhabit it. No more! This new coffee table book from our very own Amy Ratcliffe, and 75 incredible artists who identify as women or non binary, is here to prove that Star Wars has plenty of terrific female heroes as well! The lineup includes rad creators like Jen Bartel, Little Corvus, Alice X. Zhang, and Annie Wu! We're dreaming of picking it up on October 30." -- nerdist.com "meticulously compiled, beautifully illustrated and written in exciting, accessible prose that conveys the allure of these characters. . . . A cursory glance at either book is an impossibility. You'll be drawn in by the delightful art, read a passage here and then pages there. Favourite characters leap off the page. . . Ratcliffe adds fascinating behind the scenes perspectives throughout Women of the Galaxy." -- Concrete Islands "Arriving this month in beautiful artistic form Star Wars - Women of the Galaxy, written and compiled with affection and detail by rising star pop culture writer and die-hard fan Amy Ratcliffe, fused with stunning art from all-female talents linked to 75 memorable characters working in relation to both the good and dark sides of the Force. It's a worthy tome for a target audience that has grown demonstrably this past ten years, launched with a striking introduction from the no less formidable prime mover of the franchise herself: Kathleen Kennedy." -- Star Wars Aficionado "Amy Ratcliffe and her editors have selected a truly compelling list of characters for this book . . Ratcliffe is doing a good job. She emphasizes in each character what makes her unique compared to the other heroines of the saga, and thus creates a diverse image of the women's world of our favorite galaxy." -- Jedi-Bibliothek "Following on from a heartfelt introduction from current Lucasfilm president and Star Wars custodian Kathleen Kennedy, readers are left in the extremely capable hands of writer Amy Ratcliffe, who takes us on an exhaustive tour of the galaxy to introduce us to, or reacquaint us with, 75 female characters who have made a sizable impact on the franchise's countless narratives" -- Starburst Magazine "I am very impressed with the book [...] Amy Ratcliffe clearly knows what she is talking about, which makes it fun to read. In short, this is a beautiful book which will look great on the bookshelf, but will also be frequently pulled-out for easy and quick reference when needing some information!" -- Star Wars Timeline "The art is truly one of the highlights of this guide, especially because it offers us first time views of characters only seen before in novels like Kyrsta Agate and Everi Chalis . . ." "For now the conclusion of this review: Buy this book! It offers new information, with lovely illustrations and is one of the book highlights for this year." -- Star Wars Sourcebooks "This beautifully illustrated, fully authorised book profiles 75 fascinating female characters from across films, fiction, comics, animation, and games." -- Jedi News "A beautifully presented guide." -- SciFi Bulletin "This beautifully illustrated visual guide chronicles the origins and the adventures of 75 fascinating females who've featured in the Star Wars Universe, ranging from the films, the comics, the cartoons, the video games, along with the books and graphic novels." -- Comic Books and Movie Reviews "Women of the Galaxy is a new, stunningly illustrated Star Wars book that introduces us to the women of the galaxy far, far away through 75 character profiles and illustrations by female and non-binary artists from around the world." -- Geek Mom "The seventy-five female characters featured in Women of the Galaxy come from all different walks of life, just like Star Wars fans. As a female fan, I thoroughly appreciated reading about all of these intriguing and influential female characters. No matter organic or droid, these ladies of the galaxy are truly spectacular." -- Future of the Force "'Women Of The Galaxy' by Amy Ratcliffe is a timely and welcome book celebrating the female characters who have entertained and enthralled us throughout the 'Star Wars' saga. It provides an in-depth look, both in story terms and behind-the-scenes, of the women who have stood up to the Dark Side or in some cases, fully embraced it." -- SFcrowsnest
