Description

This lyrical text gives life and meaning to all the requisite elements of a treehouse, from time, timber, and rafters to a rope of twisted twine, so you can sprawl out on a limb and slide back down again. Higgins's text, filled with beautiful images and an incredibly readable assonant cadence, captures the universal timelessness of the treehouse and celebrates all the creativity, poignancy, and adventure inherent therein.

Reviews

"Glass houses, ghost-like tents hung above rivers and a treehouse library are just a few of the treasures within - surely there can be no better imaginary treehouses than the incredible ones in this lyrical and beautiful book." -- BookTrust's Great Books Guide 2018 "Get ready for your imagination to explode! Read this book, and pass out the crayons - or set up a library fort! Everything You Need for a Treehouse is all about seeing something that's not there and imagining your world as you want it to be. From building treehouses to just lying on your back and telling stories about clouds - anything is possible." -- NPR "This fabulous fantasy of a picturebook is a poem in lyrical, surprising, evocative free verse about the idea of a treehouse, made real and irresistible in busy and charming illustrations." Sunday Times Culture "This newly-released and beautifully-illustrated hardback is an ode to outdoor exploration that will make you want to head for the woods. It reads almost like a poem; a perfect bedtime treat."
