Reviews"Accompanied by inspiring case studies, this book compellingly explains which values guide community engagement and what role rural planners may play in realising a good countryside using place-based capitals." Bettina Bock, Wageningen University "A radical new take on rural place that escapes traditional national silos in planning research to present a global perspective, emphasising interconnection and relationality. A fresh and stimulating read." Michael Woods, Aberystwyth University "This book offers crucial insights into the study of rural planning, with a particular emphasis on the interconnectedness of the global countryside. It moves beyond the Anglophone world and provides a fresh perspective for both Global South and Global North rural researchers, and for practitioners pursuing the 'good countryside'." Chi-Mao Wang, National Taiwan University
