Description
This essential practical guide to best practice in adult safeguarding enables students and practitioners to develop the skills, knowledge and ethical awareness to confidently address the challenges of adult safeguarding across a wide-range of practice contexts. The authors provide detailed contextualisation that is responsive to the continuing evolution of safeguarding practices and takes into account the 2014 Adult Care Act. They also address new research and innovative ways of working within the field, whilst promoting the importance of learning from experience and building resilience in adult safeguarding work. This book features an array of development support materials, including: case studies from experienced adult safeguarding practitioners to illustrate and extend thinking, comments and vignettes from adults at risk, taken from research, checklists to aid memory and enable confident use of learning in practice and tools for reflection to extend the practitioner's development.
