Description
Inspired more than thirty years ago by works as diverse as JRR Tolkien's THE LORD OF THE RINGS and the 'spaghetti westerns' of that time, THE DARK TOWER series is the backbone of Stephen King's legendary career. Eight books make up this bestselling fantasy series. THE DARK TOWER: THE COMPLETE CONCORDANCE is the definitive encyclopaedic reference book that will make navigating through the series an even more enjoyable reading experience for readers. With hundreds of characters, Mid-World geography, High Speech lexicon, and extensive cross-references, this comprehensive handbook is essential for any DARK TOWER fan. This updated volume is an invaluable guide to all of Mid-World and one of Stephen King's most significant literary achievements.
Author Biography
While enrolled in the Ph.D. program at the University of Maine, Robin Furth was introduced to Stephen King, who needed a research assistant. Her work with King as he completed THE DARK TOWER series produced THE DARK TOWER: THE CONCORDANCE VOLUMES ONE AND TWO. Furth has since written the story lines for Marvel's bestselling comic book spin-off series THE DARK TOWER: THE GUNSLINGER BORN. She divides her time between Maine, the south of England, and Mid-World.
ReviewsI found this overview of In-World, Mid-World, and End-World both entertaining and invaluable. So, I am convinced, will you. - Stephen King Furth's concordance anticipates - and answers - virtually every question the Constant Reader might come up with. - Locus An invaluable aid whenever you want to puzzle out all of the referencees . . . or find a refresher course on who's good and who's evil. - New York Times
