Description
Formally The Headspace Diet, this book is designed to show you how to find your ideal weight in an easy, manageable and mindful way. It allows you to escape the endless diet trap by following simple yet potentially life-changing exercises in order to develop new effective habits and a much improved relationship with food and your body. The Headspace mission is to get as many people taking just 10 minutes out of their day to practise these powerful mindfulness techniques. Mindful eating is a key aspect of mindfulness and as you start to practise it you will notice profound results, both in terms of your shape but also your overall health and well being. Have you tried every diet going only to see the weight creep back on again? Do you feel guilty and anxious about eating certain foods? Or find yourself unable to resist that extra helping even if you're not actually that hungry? Are you unhappy with your body and how it looks and feels? Now is the time to stop what you're doing and try a different, healthy and brilliantly effective approach...
Author Biography
Andy Puddicombe started learning to meditate at the age of 11, and explored various approaches throughout his teens. In his early twenties he decided to act on his hunch that there had to be more to life, and set off to Asia to become a Buddhist monk. He became a fully ordained monk at a Tibetan Monastery in the Indian Himalayas, and spent many years living in monasteries and retreats throughout the world. Andy returned to the UK in 2004 with one simple intention: to demystify meditation, to make it accessible, relevant and beneficial to as many people as possible. And thus the seeds of Headspace were sown. Andy is now a registered Meditation Consultant with the UK Healthcare Commission.
Reviews'Not really a diet book, more a menu for eating your way through life (and yes, it does include chocolate)'. - Mail on Sunday 'The expert's expert - Britain's top meditation guru' - The Times 'Andy Puddicombe is doing for meditation what Jamie Oliver has done for food' - New York Times 'THE HEADSPACE DIET takes a fresh look at how we've learned to eat'. - Press Association One of the reasons it's so attractive is that it does not promise miracle weight loss.. It's as if I've been waiting for The Headspace Diet to come along. I did feel more in control around food than I had in months. But then, that afternoon, to my immense surprise I heard a voice in my own head. It said: "You are hungry. You probably need to eat a piece of fruit before you get really hungry and start looking for biscuits". I ate a banana. It doesn't sound like a big deal. But it was the most mindful banana I have ever eaten. It tasted good. - Viv Groskop, Red The Headspace Diet from meditation guru Andy Puddicombe, guides you into a clam space using clear, engaging prose that will help you manage your relationship with food in a mindful, relaxed way. - aMuse
