The Mayflower Societys annual meeting is at Washington DCs elite gathering place, the Continental Club. That means Kit Marshalls future in-laws, Buffy and Winston Hollingsworth, are coming to visit. Buffy wants Kit to commit to a high society wedding at the club, but Kit is uncomfortable with Buffy and Winstons crowd. An unexpected reprieve comes -- in the form of murder -- when Kit finds the corpse of the Mayflower Societys leader on her morning jog.
