Author Biography
Oksana Kemarskaya was born and raised in the Ukraine (formerly of the Soviet Union). Her education and drawing skills have deep roots from The Academic School of Russian Fine Art. Her passion to draw began when she was three years old. By the age of 24 Oksana had a desperate need to explore the world and to experience new visions and life styles, so she moved to North America. These days you can find her working in Montreal as a freelance illustrator for different publishers, such as: Scholastic Canada Ltd., La Montagne Secrete, Bayard Presse Canada Inc., Les Edition Quebec Amerique, Tormont Publication Inc., The Quarasan Groupe Inc., Les Edition Graphicor, Group Educalivre Inc., Les Editions Transcontinental.
ReviewsSTAR REVIEW! This science graphic book series covers many topics in nature that little minds are usually curious about, from the ground around them to the sky and beyond. Elementary appropriate text will appeal to youngsters who need to understand difficult concepts such as erosion, tectonic plates, gravity, photosynthesis, and pollination. The series also covers important historic events in science such as the eruptions of Mount St. Helens and Mount Vesuvius and Halley's Comet. As one who usually finds graphic books difficult to read, I enjoyed this series and think that our younger readers will as well. It is one of the better series on science topics that appeal to this age group. Highly Recommended.-- "Library Media Connection"
