Author Biography
E. Nelson Bridwell went from being one of comics' earliest fans in the 1950s to a position as assistant to editor Mort Weisinger in 1965. Renowned for his encyclopedic knowledge of comics history, Bridwell was soon serving as DC's unofficial "continuity cop" during an era when editors and writers were only just beginning to tie together DC's more than quarter century of history. In addition to his editorial duties, Bridwell was also a prolific writer, whose credits include a run on the Batman syndicated newspaper strip, Shazam!, the Inferior Five, the Secret Six, Super Friends, and many stories for the Superman and Batman families of titles. Nelson continued writing and editing for DC until his death in 1987.
