Description
Atlantis Dream Farm is exactly that... a dream farm! Established in 2016 by Cathi Huff, it is the namesake of her retired thoroughbred racehorse, Bronx, known during his career as "Atlantis Dream." The farm sits on five acres of land in beautiful Milton, Georgia and is home to a variety of animals: goats, pigs, dogs, barn cats, a donkey, a horse, a llama, a sheep, and a gaggle of geese. A friend once famously suggested to Cathi, "You should try goat yoga," and the rest is history. Love GOGA infuses animal therapy with yoga and mindfulness practice to heal and harmonize the mind, body and spirit. The Atlantis Dream Farm series combines thoughtful dialogue, vibrant illustrations, and relatable characters to inspire readers of all ages to connect with themselves, animals and nature.
Author Biography
At the age of 50, after fulfilling her dream of becoming a triathlete, it was time for Cathi Huff to tackle the next items on her bucket list. She had wanted a horse ever since she was a little girl. After doing some research, Cathi met Bronx, a retired thoroughbred racehorse from New York. Of course, he needed friends so Cathi soon welcomed an ark's worth of farm animals. Fast-forward a few years, and another dream of Cathi's had come true: she could look out of her kitchen window to see countless animals at the barn and in the pasture, sharing in her oasis of happiness at Atlantis Dream Farm. But this was only the beginning. After the Goat Girls joined her family, Cathi realized she wanted to share the Atlantis Dream Farm experience with as many people as she could. In 2017, Cathi founded Love GOGA, a goat yoga business, right out of her backyard. Over time, the brand evolved organically into a lifestyle of its own, highlighted by experiences which bring the mind, body and spirit into harmony. In addition to holding sessions at the Farm, Love GOGA extends most programming to partners around the North Atlanta community. Reflected in all aspects of Cathi's life are her two greatest passions: animals and mindfulness. In addition to animal yoga, Cathi is a certified holistic health and wellness coach; a certified Reiki master and yoga instructor; a hormone cure practitioner; as well as certified in digestive nutrition, gut health, meditation, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. As the list goes on, it is clear she takes quality of life seriously, and she continues to help others do the same. Kathy Duffy and her husband, Bill, have raised two daughters and live in Georgia on Southern Seasons Farm. They have over twenty animals on their hobby farm including horses, goats, dogs, cats, chickens and bees. Kathy competed in the sport of Dressage and earned a USDF Bronze Medal. Her completion horse became lame and she decided it was time for them both to retire. She still does daily farm chores, tends to the garden, and has a new passion, writing books for children. Kathy believes that children who love to read have an easier time in school. She thinks the earlier you get books into their hands, even if someone else is reading them aloud, it it instills a foundation for the love of books giving kids an advantage in school and life. She hopes that children find her books fun, they learn a little something and she leaves them wanting to find another book to read.
