Author Biography

I was born in Mexico the last millennium. Since my early youth I was attracted to Mexican poets. I arrived into the greatest country in the history of the world in 1963 on a student's visa. My public education was a horrible experience unable to understand the teachers and being passed on without any education at all. After my high school I was drafted into the US Army the week that Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated in April of 1968. My stay in the Army was a real education and I started to understand the language so much better. My service was during the Viet Nam conflict where so many people were killed. I had an operation to fix a problem that I had for years and I was not sent to Viet Nam, but I served in South Korea. So many of my brothers in arms suffered mental illness and severe drug addiction due to the extreme use of drugs and alcohol. Upon my release from the military I enrolled in college and took advantage of the GI Bill to pay for my education which led me to become a bilingual educator in elementary schools and adult English as a Second Language for 33 years; as well as being able to buy my first home. I became upset at the failing system and decided to focus on building a business and invest money to have a better life. Then my passion for writing started to capture my mind and my heart. Now I am on the computer up to early in the morning with beautiful music and a delicious glass of wine for divine inspiration. The best way to write is when you are passionate about a person, event or problem. The two most powerful forces in your heart are love and hate. The words just flow into the writing. May God bless you on your path to be a writer!
