Description
This intimately sacred book is a shout-out to humanity to delve into the mysteries of life as found in the ancient wisdom of the Torah and to connect deeply to one's soul to determine how best to live up to our full spiritual potential. Recognizing that the soul is the eternal part of us, it is fitting and proper to nurture it through our connection to the Creator. For all people personal prayer is essential. This book is written to inspire the Jewish nation and all people to use life's opportunities for self-improvement, emotional regulation, and understanding the gifts hidden in our challenges. In this way we achieve genuine peace, tranquility, and happiness in contrast to living a life of diversions and pleasures of the ego. Our return to our essence is what will change the world on a microcosmic level, and as we change so does the world around us. The wisdom imparted by this treasure will change your life for the better. It provides a strong foundation for raising happy children who are connected to their souls.
Author Biography
Lori was born and raised in California. She attended the University of California at Los Angeles, majoring in education and English and received her degree and two teaching credentials there. Her career centered around educating students of all levels, and in 2006 she became a programs adviser for the Los Angeles Unified School District. In 2013 she became certified as a Life Optimization Coach and began to pursue writing and delving into helping others reach their full potential in life. She began to research her roots which led her to pursue her talents and the Jewish mission. She was a writer for Breslov Israel under the auspices of Rabbi Lazer Brody from 2014-2018. Her book Living in Happiness offers a framework for authentic joy through attending to our soul---to the spiritual component---based on ancient Jewish wisdom. It is an excellent read for all people to get closer to their authentic self. Her mother descended from an observant Russian family, who lived in the Ukraine during the time of the Pogroms. Her father was a first generation American from a secular Russian family. Most of her extended family assimilated. Her husband came from a similar Hungarian/Romanian background. Both are only children. Both were raised to live a completely secular existence. Growing up, Lori had no personal experience with Shabbat observance, synagogue attendance, keeping kosher, or any other practice in the home. It all ended with her maternal grandparents whose impact upon her life was realized in retrospect. G-d had a special plan for Lori when she reached up to Him in personal prayer in 2009, the result of which was a spiritual awakening of monumental proportions. She and her husband started learning and growing incrementally. The positive changes that occurred as a result of her connection to G-d and His Torah could not be denied. She knew she had to share her insights with others, for, if she and her husband could transform their lives when all their children were grown and still influence them for the good, she believes just about anyone can. The Almighty answered her request to help her and her children who were not raised to know Him. Her life took on a new dimension from that moment on when she found her Jewish soul. She believes that G-d-consciousness is what the world needs more than ever. It is her hope that Living in Happiness will encourage an awakening of the spirit and of authentic joy as we passionately seek to return to who we were created to be in unity, peace, and harmony.
