Description
Marada has captured the imagination since her first appearance in Epic Illustrated in 1982, crossing the Roman Empire from adventure to adventure. Descended of Caesar, and preceded by her legendary reputation as a warrior, Marada's adventures carry her across the Roman Empire. Written by X-Men co-creator Chris Claremont and stunningly illustrated by John Bolton, Marada The She-Wolf is collected in its totality for the first time, in full-colour and accompanied by never-before-seen material.
Author Biography
Chris Claremont's work includes The Uncanny X-Men, Captain Britain, Fantastic Four and Gen 13. John Bolton was artist of Harlequin Valentine and painted one of the original Books of Magic series.
Reviews"If there is only one sequential art book you buy this year, make this the one." - San Francisco Book Review "Beautiful in both artwork and story, this truly is a forgotten epic that has now seen print again in a fantastic hardcover." - Geek Hard "The artwork in Marada: The She-wolf is simply exquisite with John Bolton creating some of the most beautiful scenes that we have ever seen." - One Metal "Bolton's work is lavish and beautifully illustrated." - This Is Infamous "This book should be one that fans of the sort of classic, unabashed fantasy from the likes of Robert E. Howard will thoroughly enjoy." - Newsarama "This comic is classic in both story and art, with a beautiful painted style by John Bolton, who is more than up to the challenge of making Claremont's characters stand out even more." - Henchman 4 Hire "If you haven't encountered Marada the She-Wolf before, then this is your chance to discover this lost treasure. It amazes me that it has taken this long for this wonderful collection to see the light of day again and to be presented to a new generation of readers who can appreciate its timelessness." - Pop Mythology "If you're a Chris Claremont fan or into the genre of wizards, warriors and Ancient Rome or into Heavy Metal-style art, then Marada the She-Wolf is for you to pick-up. Plus I really enjoyed John Bolton's amazing painted comic-strips, they have that epic movie-like style and unique detail." - Retrenders "Visually compelling. Some of my favourite demonic horrors can be found in this book....as suitable for Marada fans who already have some of her adventures as it is for newbies." - Geek Native '...you can NOT go without this one! ...every art lover and comic book lover should have (this) on their shelves and on their coffee tables.' - Comics for Sinners "The action is beautiful to behold... Every page is stunning and bristling with detail... It's amazing to feel and hold and each page is crisp and of high quality. I really enjoyed the background features explaining certain aspects of the books, and the real life story behind Claremont writing this." - Trash Mutant "If you've already started your Christmas shopping and you're looking for something for the fantasy comic fanatic in your family, Marada the She-Wolf is a must buy." - Geek Hard "Claremont is a wonderful story teller, and Bolton's art is truly beautiful. Together they created something special with Marada, and it still holds up today." - Awkward Geeks "Marada's resurrection into print, after more than 25 years, must certainly be a welcome gift to old Epic fans. Simply put, Marada - The She-Wolf is a quality Titan product that will not leave fans of this genre wanting." - Geek Nutz "Marada, a dark and damaged heroine you never stop rooting for, is no exception to his talent for giving voice to rounded female characters... John Bolton's artwork is exquisite. The characters are more akin to painted portraits than comic book representations, and Marada possesses an unaffected sensuality that is all the more arresting for its lack of ostentation." - Starburst "Beautifully illustrated" - Atomic Moo
