Alain Badiou is a world-renowned French philosopher, formerly chair of the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris, France, and founder of the faculty of Philosophy at the University of Paris VIII with Gilles Deleuze, Michel Foucault, and Jean-Francois Lyotard.
