Description

Gough reveals the ways in which labour process change is integrally bound up with stasis or change in the location of the workplace. He looks at how change is related to the roller-coaster rhythms of capitalist investment within workplaces, local industries and economies and in the business cycle, national and international economies. Empirically, these ideas are explored in a detailed case study of factories in London at the beginning of the period of neoliberal restructuring in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
