Description

After a little lost turkey wanders onto Belle and Fred's farm, Belle's garden becomes the most beautiful one in the neighborhood. Everyone wants to know her secret, but Belle won't tell. Then, while she is out of town, another turkey comes to roost on the farm...and then another...and another...until the whole farm is overrun! Fred is at his wit's end when his neighbors offer to help- if he'll share Belle's secret. Will Fred tell, or will Belle's garden be ruined?

Megan Lloyd has illustrated many fine books for children, including "Too Many Pumpkins" by Linda White and "The Gingerbread Man" by Eric A. Kimmel. For this book she painted in the very old medium of egg tempera to capture the flatter style of nineteenth-century itinerant limners. She lives on a farm in central Pennsylvania with her husband, near where this book was set. Linda White is the author of Too Many Pumpkins and Too Many Turkeys. Ms. White lives in Colorado.
