Description
Quit your job, pack your boards, jump into the car, and surf your way down the California coast. Sound like a daydream? "The California Surf Project" is the fully illustrated travel diary of two surfers who actually did this. Professional photographer Chris Burkard and surfer and artist Eric Soderquist roadtripped in their beat up Volkswagen bus from the Oregon border to the Tiajuana Sloughs on a two-month quest to rediscover everything the Golden State's legendary waves have to offer. Along the way, they documented their experiences in photographs and diary entries, which were originally posted at heavily trafficked Website Surfline.com and are now collected in this beautiful coffee table book. Relive in more than 200 photographs their incredible adventure of crashing monster waves, sharing campfires with total strangers, and keeping the bus running with duct tape and prayers - in short, living the dream. Candid, dry, but often humorous text documents the inevitable ups and downs of a memorable journey. A professionally produced twenty-minute DVD tucked inside the back case features footage taken on a Super-8 camera during the roadtrip, too.
