Visitors can experience authentic cuisines from around the world, enjoy old Hollywood stories, catch sight of a celebrity or two, and still purchase the most fresh and abundant produce, meats, seafood, cheeses and baked goods in the city. For readers who can't quite get there, this fascinating food lover's storybook incorporates not only the history of the Market but highlights the multigenerational vendors and their most sought after recipes. Celebrating its milestone seventy-fifth anniversary, this enduring companion piece brings to life the experience that is a trip to the wonderfully unique Farmers Market. From Mexican to Middle Eastern to Brazilian and even good ol' American diner fare, "Farmers Market" has something for everyone.
