"Air Force" covers the entire history of the U.S. Air Force and its development from its beginnings early in the last century, initial success in World War I flying British and French built aircraft, to the globe-circling force of World War II, and becoming the world's largest, most powerful, and most versatile air-combat force. Special attention is paid to the air force's recent, post-Vietnam history, and an entire chapter is devoted to America's air force of the future.
Author Biography
Chester G. Hearn is an American military veteran and historian. He is the author of more than twenty books including Six Years of Hell: Harpers Ferry During the Civil War and George Washington's Schooner's: The First American Navy. Three of his books have been History Book Club selections.
