Author Biography
Tony Mitton is the author of the bestselling Amazing Machines picture books. A popular children's author, his poetry book The Red and White Spotted Handkerchief was the winner of the 2000 Smarties Prize and whose Royal Raps won the 1997 Nottinghamshire Libraries/Dillons Children's Book Award. He has written a number of picture books including Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus and Down By the Cool of the Pool. His other titles include collections of poetry for older children. Ant Parker is the illustrator of the bestselling Amazing Machines picture books. He studied drawing and printing at the Bath Academy of Art in England and has taught papermaking, printing, and bookbinding workshops for children. Toddlers and parents around the globe have discovered the irresistible appeal of his wacky cartoon characters in Flashing Fire Engines, Terrific Trains, Dazzling Diggers, and Roaring Rockets. Other picture books illustrated by Ant include Charlie the Chicken and Desmond the Dog.
