Description

The authors of "The Stargate Conspiracy" aim to expose one of the most insidious and dangerous plans of our times. One that involves intelligence agencies, politicians, international bestselling authors, and the world's leading scientists and industrialists. They believe that this conspiracy, centred upon the eternal mysteries of ancient Egypt, targets and threatens us all. Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince highlight a secret agenda which has been pursued for nearly 50 years and which is emerging in the form of a hybrid fundamentalism on the eve of the Millennium. Tracing the identity of the groups involved and their pedigree through occult networks and mind-control experiments, the authors argue that at the heart of this conspiracy is the belief that ancient Egyptian gods were - and are - real extrterrestrial beings, that certain key people are in contact with these beings, and that they are about to return through the "stargate" between our world and theirs. The authors reveal that the background to these ideas can be found within astonishingly advanced scientific knowledge encapsulated in the ancient Egyptian texts, now recognized as a major influence on the development of European thought. The US-funded excavations that have taken place on the Giza plateua since the 1970s - offically denied, but for which Picknett and Prince produce documented evidence - now appear to be the result of directives allegedly received through communication with beings of higher intelligence, who are instructing the conspirators to lay the foundations for great global changes. But are we really preparing for the return of the gods? And, if so, will we be expected to accept unquestioningly the conspirators as our spokesmen? Or is this an exercise in mass deception designed to ensure our support of the conspirators? As the powerful few feed on millennial tension, triumphantly persuading us they alone know how to talk to the gods, the authors intend their work as a serious warning to mankind.

Reviews

'Picknett and Prince are first-class storytellers and their magical mystery tour is totally enthralling' DAILY MAIL 'Over the last few years there has been an explosion of books rewriting archaeology, history and religion. Some focus on new interpretations of the life and teachings of Jesus, others on the Templars and Freemasons, and yet others on ancient monuments such as the pyramids of Egypt. In most cases some secret doctrine is unveiled: esoteric teachings going back to the dawn of time, preserved in "impossible-to-build" buildings, mythology or ritual, and now revealed by the intrepid researchers. Picknett and Prince, who have written their own share of such books (In His Own Image: The Story of the Turin Shroud and The Templar Revelation: Secret Guardians of the True Identity of Christ) now take their turn at debunking books on the pyramids, early extraterrestrial contact with mankind, the "Face" and "pyramids" on Mars, and the claimed significance of the year 10,500 BC. Graham Hancock, Robert Bauval and Robert Temple come in for particular criticism, with Picknett and Prince pointing out some of their factual errors as well as examples of sloppy logical progression in their arguments. But this is only the beginning of their book. The authors summon large amounts of evidence to argue that behind such modern authors on the pyramids and Mars there might lie a hidden agenda, involving channelled messages from the Ennead, the nine major gods of Egypt; a wide range of parapsychologists and scientists, including some from NASA; the defence and intelligence communities; and even some politicians. The nine gods may or may not be real, they say, and channelling might simply come from the subconscious, though they accept phenomena such as Remote Viewing as entirely real. Whether their worrying conclusions are valid or whether they have simply come up with another conspiracy theory, Picknett and Prince's book is not only controversial but thought-provoking too.' - David V Barrett, AMAZON.CO.UK REVIEW
