Description
When Sheila Malory reluctantly agrees to help out in one of Taviscombe's charity shops, she is warned about the 'control freak' manager Desmond Barlow. But still, surely no-one would wish him harm? When his lifeless body is discovered, Sheila finds herself at the heart of the investigation. Unofficially, of course.
Author Biography
Hazel Holt was born in Birmingham and was educated at King Edward VI High School and Newnham College, Cambridge. She worked as an editor, reviewer and feature writer before turning to fiction in an attempt to keep up with her son, the novelist Tom Holt. Hazel is also the literary executor of Barbara Pym's estate. Hazel's life is divided between writing, cooking and trying to cope with the demands of her Siamese cat, Flip.
Reviews'A top-drawer Miss Marple type of whodunit with a maze-like plot and dark revelations' Northern Echo 'Holt has created a wonderfully warm character in Sheila Malory; she's sensible, sympathetic, and perceptive. The author's gentle way of noticing people's foibles is reminiscent of Jane Austen' Good Book Guide
