Author Biography
Charles Dickens' literary genius is recognised worldwide. His iconic works include David Copperfield, Bleak House, A Tale of Two Cities, A Christmas Carol and many others. Lesley dreamed of being a writer, but studied law as her mother insisted she had "something to fall back on". Since joining Usborne Publishing, she has written and edited hundreds of books, from funny rhyming stories to an award-winning history book. Nowadays, she is often found recording books, too, in Usborne's very own recording studio.
Reviews'Irresistible for children learning to read' - Child Education Plus; 'The Usborne Young Reading Program has a lovely selection of classic tales adapted for younger readers. Graded in seven levels, these have just enough stretch in them and yet are not too overwhelming' - The Irish Sunday Independent; 'Crack reading and make confident and enthusiastic readers with this fantastic reading programme' - Julia Eccleshare; 'Shows it is never too late to change your evil ways, and how seeing your past, present and future can change how you look at things' - The Guardian
