Emily Rodda is the pen name for Jennifer Rowe. She lives in the Blue Mountains in NSW with her four children. Her books have always met with critical acclaim, having won the Children's Book of the Year Award three times: for Something Special (1984), The Best-Kept Secret (1987) and Pigs Might Fly (1988). She is also well-known to children worldwide for her Deltora Quest series.
