This is not an invective against the Church, but a deeply felt argument on behalf of the many Catholics who now feel disenfranchised. It encourages those holding on to a faith they love (often with gritted teeth) to keep going, and offers a concept of Catholicism through which they can still find deep meaning and stay connected to their Church.
