Milton Glaser is one of the most famous and pivotal graphic designers of the 20th century and has created some of the most powerful and enduring visual art of our time. This companion to the exhibition of his work, 'In Search of the Miraculous or One Thing Leads to Another', displayed at the AIGA National Design Centre in New York, features selections from his extensive collection; from drawings to never before seen graphic design works.
Author Biography
Milton Glaser has had one-man shows at the Museum of Modern Art and the Centre Georges Pompidou. In 2004 he was selected for the lifetime achievement award of the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. In 2010, he was awarded a National Medal of Arts by Barack Obama. His books include Graphic Design, Art is Work, and Drawing is Thinking, all published by Duckworth Overlook.
ReviewsElegant ... the text and the picture positively embrace and dance together. * The New York Times * To younger graphic designers, Glaser has the stature of Marlon Brando in Hollywood ... He appears to have thought more deeply about what he makes than many lionized by the contemporary art world and its market. * San Francisco Chronicle *
