The National Curriculum requires that children have experience playing tuned percussion instruments (xylophones, glockenspiels, chime bars, etc.) This work is aimed at the generalist teacher delivering music to children aged 9 years and over, with limited resources and possibly little confidence. No music-reading is required. The pack includes musical games for exploring and developing musical skills, play-along ideas for songs, with photocopiable parts for children to play from, ideas for improvising and composing and a cassette which takes the teacher and children through all the ideas step-by-step to final performance.
