A collection of classical audition speeches selected from plays spanning the following periods; Elizabethan-Jacobean, Restoration, eighteenth century and late nineteenth to early twentieth century. For each speech a brief synopsis of the scene is outlined and the age and accent of the character listed. An introductory section includes advice from teachers, casting agents and directors on what they look for during an audition.
Author Biography
Jean Marlow has run The Actors' Theatre School in London for a number of years and is an experienced actress and teacher. She has edited several audition speeches books for A&C Black.
