Description
A mother watches her daughter grow into a beautiful young lady as their military family travels the countryside and discovers the luminous wonders of the moon and a variety of trees. "I See The Moon," traditionally sung through three generations, reminds them no matter where they are, or how far apart, viewing the moon reflects their love for one another.
Author Biography
Margaret Lucynda Buchanan was born in El Centro, California, and was the youngest of three girls, and one boy. Her parents were primary grade teachers, who always had a travel trailer, to leave the hot summer desert for the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Margaret, nicknamed Cindy, enjoyed vacations along the Rio Grande River and the marvelous Creede Repertory Theater in the historic mining town of Creede. Cindy acquired her teaching degree in Durango, Colorado, and became a military spouse that took her and her two children to various parts of the United States for duty. Her favorite place to be stationed was Hawaii, where she spent 7 years and began work in the field of Early Childhood, in the Army Civil Service. Eventually, she and her family settled down, back in the Rocky Mountains that she loved so much. Unfortunately, her older child, Sarah Chelsea, was tragically killed in an automobile accident when she was 19 years of age. As part of Cindy's grief journey, she decided to write and illustrate a children's book in memory of her daughter. She still works in the field of Early Childhood by coaching and training early childhood staff through the Early Childhood Council of the San Luis Valley.
