Description

The objective of this book is to provide a brief, but thorough account of the basic principles of good pump design. The author begins with a review of basic hydraulic relations. This section also includes a chapter on analytical methods and computer aided design, which is becoming increasingly common. This is followed by a description of two simple pump designs, the centrifugal pump and the axial flow pump. Next, support devices, such as shafts, bearings, seals and drives are discussed. The last two chapters deal with design for difficult fluids, and codes and practices.

Reviews

"...a scholarly work-compendium...an excellent source of reference material for even more detailed study...This is a good reference text that can stand on its own...Rotodynamic Pump Design should be in the library of all pump designers." F.D. Norvelle, Applied Mechanics Review
