First published in 1981 as the Offshore Information Guide this guide to information sources has been hailed internationally as an indispensable handbook for the oil, gas and marine industries. In 1991 Arnold Myers, the book's first compiler, received the Institute of Information Scientists' Jason Farradine Award "specifically for your publication "The Offshore Information Guide", but also your widely-recognized contribution to information services within the international oil and gas industry". For this new edition the Guide has been completely revised and substantially enlarged. With the assistance of staff from the Centre of Cold Ocean Resources Engineering (Memorial University of Newfoundland) the world-wide coverage has been much extended. Additional subject areas include new sections under the following headings: exploration, field development, petroleum reservoirs, economics, government.
