Description
This TV tie-in cookbook to THE HAIRY BIKERS' ASIAN ADVENTURE BBC series, airing on LifeStyle FOOD in 2014, follows the boys' travels through Thailand, Korea, Japan and Vietnam to put together their favourite Asian dishes. Journeying through the spice plantations, cardamom hills, buzzing street stalls, rice paddies and abundant coastlines of the great eastern continent, Si and Dave find the most exciting authentic recipes for you to cook at home. Following on from their many bestselling titles, including PERFECT PIES, BIG BOOK OF BAKING, and THE HAIRY BIKERS' GREAT CURRIES, this is another heart-warming and down-to-earth cookery book, delivering a true taste of Asia perfect for all the family. Packed with delicious recipes, exotic flavours, tips to swap and techniques to learn, this gorgeous collection of recipes is the Hairy Bikers at their best.
Author Biography
Si King hails from North East England and is a big, blond, bearded biker with an infectious laugh. His love of food was established at a young age when his father brought exotic ingredients back from his Royal Navy voyages. Born and bred in Barrow-in-Furness, Dave Myers joined the BBC as a make-up artist, and while travelling the world with hit TV series he picked up recipes with Si, Dave's travelling companion and the other half of the hairy bikers. They have been entertaining and feeding Britain with their unique blend of delicious recipes, cheeky humour and motorbike enthusiasm for years now. They are regular faces on the BBC, fronting programmes such as Mum Know's Best, and The Hairy Bikers' Bakeation. http://www.hairybikers.com/ https://twitter.com/HairyBikers
ReviewsFood heroes Si King and Davey Myers have travelled to Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and Korea, sampling every kind of food they could get their hands on. In this fab new book, they bring home the best recipes for us to try. They're speedy to make, packed with flavour and healthy too, so the diet doesn't have to go out of the window! * CLOSER * For their latest book, Si King and Dave Myers travelled to Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and Korea. The result is a beautiful collection of fresh, healthy and enticingly authentic recipes with everything from miso baked black cod to pad thai, and clay pot duck with ginger. There's also a useful A-Z of ingredients and a nationwide list of suppliers * WAITROSE KITCHEN 'Book of the Month' * This collection, accompanying the new BBC TV series, includes recipes from Thailand, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong. Spicy, fresh and simple to cook, there are lots of street food snacks and satisfying main course dishes to inspire and the boys use ingredients widely available in the UK. * BBC GOOD FOOD MAGAZINE * The thing I like most about Mr Myers and Mr King is the passion with which they enjoy what they cook... another absolute triumph in a long line of successful cookery books. Worth owning for the Panang Beef Curry recipe on Pae 108 which I now crave more than anything else I've cooked in ages! -- Ben Keenan, Waterstones, Butter Market, Bury St Edmonds * BURY FREE PRESS * Full of tempting recipes from dim sum to Japanese pizza, chow mein to penang beef curry. If you've not dabbled in Asian cooking before, this book will most certainly convert you. Si and Dave have put their own twist on well-known recipes as well as introducing some more unUsual ones. Recipes are easy to follow and the photography makes the book * CHOICE * Food heroes Si King and Davey Myers have travelled to Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and Korea, sampling every kind of food they could get their hands on.
