A whimsical meditation for little animal lovers on finding an animal companion who will be more than just a pet. Hey there! Are you looking for a pet Don't rush or panic. Let's think... Do you want someone to snuggle when you're afraid One who is quiet and slow, or one who will talk to you There's so much to consider when choosing a new pet that it can be almost overwhelming! Each person is unique and so is every animal. In this gentle guide to finding the perfect pet, Estelle Laure asks childlike questions to help readers consider. Amy Hevron's warm acrylic on wood illustrations makes each pet feel lovable-especially the bat, the snake, and the spider! This is a book that encourages self-reflection, human individuality, and animal friendship.
Author Biography
Estelle Laure loves watching kids connect with animals. The right pet can make a crying child giggle or a wiggly kid still and she thinks that is very special. Currently, she has five cats, one dog, and two children and can often be found trying to keep kittens off her keyboard and out of her coffee mug. The Perfect Pet for You! is her first picture book. She is also the author of books for young adults, and her work has been translated everywhere from Brazil to Israel among many other places. Visit her at estellelaure.com. Amy Hevron loves animals and grew up with many cats, dogs, birds, and fish. Her favorite childhood pet was a tabby cat named Alexander Wakefield Applegate Hevron. Amy is the illustrator of Trevor by Jim Averbeck and author/illustrator of Dust Bunny Wants a Friend. In both 2015 and 2016, Amy received the Portfolio Honor Award from the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
