Description

'A sparkling Christmas read. Cosy, comforting and liberally sprinkled with magic, it's absolutely delicious!' RUTH HOGAN 'A wonderfully written story of family, friends and food. Christmas has come early with this cosy, heartwarming read - a real treat!' SAMANTHA TONGE 'Light the fire, pour yourself a glass of mulled wine and settle down with this gorgeous festive treat. A delightful Christmas read about family, loss and the magic of old recipe books. It's as comforting and delicious as a batch of freshly baked mince pies' ANNIE LYONS 'A charming, heartwarming story' The People's Friend Could a sprinkling of magic save Christmas this year? Amid the salt marshes and rolling fields of Periwinkle Bay, Magda Conway is enjoying her retirement in ivy-clad Mistletoe Cottage. Yet with three weeks to go until Christmas, as the fairy lights twinkle and the trees go up around the village, her peace is disrupted when she's left in sole charge of her two mischievous grandchildren. Before long, she's at her wit's end - but high on a kitchen shelf lies her mother's handwritten recipe book. And as she turns to it for advice, she finds more than just recipes between its tattered covers: there's a pinch of magic too, and maybe even a sprinkling of love . . . Praise for Celia Anderson 'Warm, romantic and different, in the very best way' Katie Fforde 'Anderson has woven more than a hint of magic through the pages' Heidi Swain 'I absolutely adored it!' Ruth Hogan 'A brilliantly original and enchanting tale' The Sun 'Wonderful characters make this a great read' Good Housekeeping 'Truly unique . . . unforgettable' Woman's Weekly

Author Biography

Celia Anderson lives slap bang in the middle of the Midlands and dreams of owning a cottage by the sea, or at the very least on a canal or river. She makes do with living next door to a pond full of ducks but often manages to sneak more impressive watery places into her writing. Celia loves walking, reading, having large bubbly baths, eating and drinking wine. Over the years, she has found that all of these activities bar the first may be done simultaneously, although this can be messy. Previously a teacher and assistant head, she now writes full time and keeps her feet on the ground by running children's clubs that mainly involve drama and cake. An enthusiastic member of the Romantic Novelists' Association, Celia currently organises the judging for the Romantic Novel of the Year Awards. She spends far too much time on social media and dreams of one day being strong-minded enough to leave the house without her phone.
