Author Biography
Maryrose Wood is a former Broadway actor, comedian, and playwright. She is also the author of the teen novel THE POISON DIARIES and has written several other YA titles, including MY LIFE, THE MUSICAL and HOW I FOUND THE PERFECT DRESS. You can visit her online at www.maryrosewood.com.Jon Klassen grew up in Niagara Falls, Canada, and now lives in Los Angeles, California. He is the author and illustrator of the picture book I Want My Hat Back, as well as the illustrator of Cats' Night Out by Caroline Stutson, and the middle-grade series The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place by Maryrose Wood. Maryrose started out writing for the theatre and film, as a lyricist, librettist, playwright and screenwriter. She was the first recipient of the Georgia Bogardus Holof Lyricist Award, and is a three-time recipient of the Richard Rodgers Award for New Musicals, which is administered by the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She has written a number of novels for young adults including WHY I LET MY HAIR GROW OUT, HOW I FOUND THE PERFECT DRESS and WHAT I WORE TO SAVE THE WORLD. She enjoys gardening, kayaking, napping, reading tons of books, and trying new vegetarian recipes (with mixed success). She lives in New York with her two children, two kittens, and a small, feisty, red-headed dog.
