Description

The sparkling new novel from the author of SHINE and GLITTER. "We talk about everything, Dad and me. About all the mysteries inside of us. About all our wonderings of the world. But tomorrow my dad goes to war. Then what will I do?" Jemima's dad's in the Army and he's off to Afghanistan again for six whole months. Her mum's about to have another baby and hasn't got the energy to worry about anything else. Gran is staying to help out, but her head is filled with her own wartime memories. So while Mima is sending Dad millions of guardian angels every night to keep him safe, who is looking out for her? The third novel from Kate Maryon - a sparkling new voice for tween girls.

Reviews

Praise for 'Invisible Girl': "Kate Maryon's characters stay with you long after the book is finished." Jenny Valentine Praise for A Million Angels Easy to read and beautifully observed... Maryon has a vivid turn of phrase and a gift for expressing complicated emotions... Praise for Shine: "[Kate Maryon] understands a child's deepest feelings, including the negative ones, and she allows Tiff to run through the gamut of them as she slowly works her way through feelings of abandonment, loneliness, fear and anger, until eventually happiness and love can resurface. Readers will recognise all her thoughts. It's an uplifting story which begins with a huge disaster and ends with a new start for everyone. It will reassure and comfort its readers and it exactly inhabits their emotional landscape... I think tween girls are going to love it." [Four stars] TheBookBag.co.uk
